12/20/2023 0 Comments Twig mac lipstick![]() Like other Revlon crayons, this has peppermint oil which gives a minty scent and a weird tingle. ![]() ![]() The colour is a bit redder than Twig, but it’s pretty damn close! The colour payoff is great. The crayon format of this lipstick makes it very easy to apply, and I love the matte metal detail on the twist-up end, although I’ve found that these Revlon lids crack very easily and then slip off in handbags. Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Sultry – Close colour dupe. The packaging screams luxury, with a cool magnetic closure that snaps shut with a satisfying click. It’s very creamy and moisturising for a satin lipstick, with nicely opaque colour payoff. This is a tiny bit little pinker than Twig, but has the same sort of finish. Marc Jacobs Lip Crème in Infamous* – Close colour dupe. The colour payoff is magnificent, and it’s opaque with one swipe, with a not-quite-matte, not-quite cream finish. It smells pleasantly vanilla. The formula is a bit drying on my lips, but my lips are very prone to dehydration (fat lip life) so most people will fare better. MAC Satin Lipstick in Twig* – This is a lovely pinky-brown colour that’s great for my-lips-but-better looks on darker girls i.e. (This is only about a third of my pinky-browns. Then I realised that I had an embarrassing number of lipsticks in my collection in the same colour family…so why not do a swatch comparison post? Or my post 7 Perfect Nude Lipsticks for Oriental/Asian Skin Tones, a mix of affordable and more higher end lipsticks.I’ve always been a fan of the brown/rose/mauve family of lipsticks, so when I got my hot little hands on the much-loved MAC Twig, I wasn’t surprised when I loved it. If you enjoyed this post/video then you might want to check out my video on my favourite drugstore nude lipsticks and lip liners (great for oriental/asian skin tones) Mac Lipstick Swatches L-R: Cosmo, Fast Play, Twig, Blankety & Velvet Teddy It’s not as flat as a matte liquid lipstick. It actually has a similar texture to the Satin finish formula with just a tad less shine. Although matte, it’s not dry and applies just as well as the other formulas. This shade is probably the closest to my natural lip colour out of all the shades which surprises me. Velvet Teddy – Matte A warm, muted, mid-tone peachy brown with a matte finish. As this is rather on the light side, I like to wear it with a darker lip liner especially Mac’s lip liner in Stripdown. It feels very creamy and nourishing on the lips. Despite how light it is, it still packs a punch in the pigment department and glides on effortlessly. The shade is pigmented and a full even coverage is achieved with one layer.īlankety – Amplified A very light, beigy, pink nude with a sheeny finish. It’s comfortable to wear with slightly less slip than the Amplified finishes. Twig- Satin Very similar to Fast Play although it has less of a sheen due to it’s Satin finish and pulls more of a plummy pink whereas Fast Play pulls more brown by comparison. Again, the Amplified finish is super comfortable to wear, has incredible colour payoff and full opacity is achieved with a single layer. It’s super comfortable to wear, packed with pigment and full opacity is easily achieved with one layer.įast Play – Amplified A neutral, mid tone mauvy pink with a satin finish (slightly more deeper than Cosmo). I’ve included a brief description of each of the shades here but for more information, make sure you check out the video.Ī warm, mid-tone peachy pink with a sheeny finish. For those that find swatches useful like myself, I hope this video and the photographs in this post help you out when deciding which shade to pick up next. In this video I share with you my current 5 favourite MAC lipsticks – the shades that I get the most wear out of. Every time I pass a MAC counter, I just can’t pass by without going into a lipstick swatching frenzy whilst making a metal list of what shades I need to add to my collection next (Viva Glam II and Half n Half, I have my eyes on you). I don’t know what it is about MAC lipsticks that cause me to go weak at the knees.
